The West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF) participated in the 5th Session of the AU Sub-Committee on Tax and Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs) held in Abuja, Nigeria from 31 March to 2 April 2026.
Held under the theme “Building the Africa We Want through Tax and Fiscal Policy Reforms,” the meeting convened key stakeholders to advance domestic resource mobilization and strengthen Africa’s tax systems.

The WATAF delegation actively contributed to high-level discussions on tax policy reforms, digital economy taxation, and combating illicit financial flows, while engaging with key continental institutions and partners.
WATAF reaffirmed its commitment to supporting West African countries through capacity building, regional collaboration, and effective tax policy coordination, in line with continental priorities such as Agenda 2063 and AfCFTA.
