The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) and the West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF) have formalised a long-term Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC), marking an important milestone in strengthening collaboration among African tax administrations.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing domestic resource mobilisation, enhancing institutional capacity, and promoting more coordinated and effective tax systems across the continent.
Under this framework, both organisations will work together to deliver technical assistance, capacity building, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, while supporting efforts to address illicit financial flows and ensure that Africa’s perspectives are well represented in global tax discussions.
The MoC establishes a structured platform for sustained cooperation, enabling both organisations to align efforts, improve efficiency, and maximise impact in supporting their member administrations.
This collaboration reinforces a common objective: to build resilient, efficient, and modern tax systems that contribute to sustainable development and fiscal stability across Africa.
