In a stride towards fostering regional cooperation in the field of tax compliance, the West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF) Compliance Risk Management (CRM) Network (WATAF-CRMNet) held its 3rd meeting today, 29 November, 2023, virtually.
The event served as a platform for WATAF-CRMNet members to engage in robust discussions about compliance risk management. The participants delved into the WATAF- CRM framework, which outlines best practices in the field. By leveraging the collective knowledge and expertise of the network, attendees explored innovative approaches to address the challenges associated with tax compliance.
One of the primary objectives of the event was to devise effective strategies to reduce the tax compliance gap. Members actively contributed ideas on how to enhance tax collection processes, streamline procedures, and implement measures that encourage voluntary compliance.
