Frequent examination and monitoring of an organisation’s operations contribute significantly to its success and influence its future engagement. Recognising this, the Secretariat of the West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF) embarked on a four-day retreat at the Ibom Icon Hotel and Golf Resort in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, from 16 to 19 February 2023.
The theme of the 2023 retreat was “Synergy for Outstanding Impact.” It was an opportunity to analyse, evaluate, assess, and establish a strategic plan of action to increase the Secretariat’s efficiency in implementing the 2023 annual plan as well as to evaluate the performance of the 2022 annual plan.
Personal effectiveness, leadership skills, stakeholder engagement, and other topics were also discussed during the retreat.
The team took advantage of the beautiful setting of the retreat to end each day with team-building and other after class activities.
At the conclusion of the retreat, each team member received a work plan that would collectively contribute to the achievement of the 2023 annual plan.
