The Executive Secretary of the West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF), Mr. Jules Tapsoba, is participating in the ongoing 12th International Annual Tax Conference (CIAF/AITC 2026).
The Conference, which brings together tax administrators, policymakers, and experts from across Africa and beyond, provides a strategic platform for dialogue on contemporary taxation issues, with a focus on strengthening fiscal systems and enhancing domestic resource mobilisation.
Mr. Tapsoba contributed to high-level discussions, including sessions on international tax cooperation and fiscal sovereignty, where he shared WATAF’s perspectives on regional collaboration, capacity building, and the importance of coordinated approaches to emerging tax challenges.
According to the programme , the conference covers key thematic areas such as:

• Digitalisation and complexity in tax systems
• Governance, transparency, and accountability
• Taxation of extractive industries
• International tax conventions and combating illicit financial flows
