The West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF) will hold its Country Correspondents Conference and Training for Heads of Communications Departments from March 18–19, 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria. Themed “Fostering Effective Communication for Institutional and Corporate Development in Tax Administrations: The Role of WATAF Focal Persons,” the event aims to enhance communication strategies that drive institutional growth and transparency in tax administrations across West Africa.
WATAF focal persons, including country correspondents and heads of corporate communications, play a crucial role in bridging the gap between tax authorities, stakeholders, and the public. The conference will equip these focal persons with advanced communication tools and strategies to strengthen stakeholder engagement, manage public perception, and support institutional development initiatives.
The two-day event will feature insightful panel sessions, practical training on crisis communication and digital engagement, and opportunities for regional collaboration and knowledge sharing. Participants will gain actionable insights into crafting impactful communication strategies that align with global best practices.
By empowering communication leaders within member tax administrations, WATAF aims to build a stronger, more transparent, and development-focused tax environment in the region.
