The West African Tax Administration Forum (WATAF) and the South Centre are jointly organisating a special technical session on the OECD two pillar solution. The technical session will take place from 4th to 5th July 2023, in Abuja, Nigeria.
The objective of the two-day technical session is to provide an opportunity for member states’ Treaty Negotiators, Heads of Tax Policy Departments, heads of technical from the supervising ministries of member states, as well as experts in international taxation, to discuss the OECD two pillar solution. It aims to enhance participants’ understanding of the rules and their implications for their respective jurisdictions, ensuring that members are well-informed regardless of the choices they make.
The participants will include:
- Treaty Negotiators from WATAF Member states
- Heads of Tax Policy Departments
- Tax experts and practitioners with expertise in international taxation
Expected outcome:
- Increased understanding of the OECD two pillar solution among WATAF member countries’ Treaty Negotiators and experts.
- Enhanced awareness of the rules and their implications for the participating jurisdictions.
- Identification of key challenges and opportunities arising from the implementation of the rules.
- Exchange of experiences, best practices, and policy responses among the participants.
