Participants from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) from tax administrations, tax experts from the academia, Ministries of Finance, Civil Society Organisations, development agencies among others, gathered in Abuja and virtually, between September 21 and 22 to share thoughts on the taxation of the digital economy. Indeed, the exponential growth of the digital economy have transformed the way businesses are carried out, no doubt, this requires new thinking, reformulation of economic policy frameworks especially tax policy, to enable African nations to maximise the potential economic benefits available therein.
